Forum Studi Transportasi antar Perguruan Tinggi (FSTPT) 2023

TITLE : Sustainable Transport Strategies for Developing Countries

HOME

Forum Studi Transportasi antar Perguruan Tinggi (FSTPT) or better known as FSTPT is a discussion forum and exchange of ideas for academics from various universities who discuss topics related to transportation, starting from discussing problems related to transportation to finding solutions and developing technology in this field. .

The FSTPT National Symposium is the biggest agenda of the FSTPT which is routinely held every year and at different locations. In 2023, FSTPT will hold a joint symposium, namely the XVI FSTPT National Symposium and the IV International Symposium of Transport Studies for Developing Countries (ISTSDC) which will be held at the Bandung Institute of Technology, on November 11th 2023 and will include a Call for Paper, Workshop, Conference and Technical Visit.

In this year’s edition, the organizing committee will raise a theme entitled Sustainable Transport Strategies for Developing Countries. The choice of this theme is based on the fact that transportation has become an important part of human civilization and will continue to be a fundamental part for the sustainability of human life. The relationship between transportation and civilization will mutually influence each other so the role of each aspect needs to be considered.

How to Get to Bandung

Bandung is the capital of West Java Province, located about 120 km South East of Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Bandung is known as city of Asia-Africa, since the first conference of 29 Asian and African nations held in Indonesia in April 1955. The city is located within the Priangan (Preanger) highlands on gently sloping terrain at an elevation of  750 m. Surrounding Bandung are the volcanic South Preanger Highlands, which reach elevation from 1500 to 2400 m nearby. Because of its elevation and consequently cool temperatures (averaging between 18oC – 25oC), below those in the lowlands, the city has developed into an important tourist center. Good highways radiate to all points in Java. Intercity bus has Leuwipanjang Terminal as main station. Travels have many end points near venue, e.g Dipatiukur, Balubur and Cihampelas. Rail connections also provided northward to Jakarta and southeastward to the south cost and eastern Java, with Bandung Station as main station. The airport of Kertajati lies on east of West Java, connected Bandung to Kualalumpur, Singapore, Batam, Jakarta, Jogjakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, and Denpasar. Figure 1 shows where the main stations are located. Urban transportation in Bandung city served with angkot and bus, that displayed in Figure 2 and 3.  Many hotels are recommended near the venue, can be seen in Figure 4.
