Teknik Lepas Pantai

Kelompok Keahlian (KK) Teknik Lepas Pantai merupakan pengembangan dari Kelompok Keahlian Teknik Kelautan. Pada awalnya, Kelompok Keahlian Teknik Kelautan terbentuk sejak tahun 2006 seiring perubahan struktur ITB menjadi Program Studi dan Kelompok Keahlian. Pada Tahun 2014, KK Teknik Lepas Pantai resmi yang merupakan pemfokusan dari bidang keahlian para anggotanya. KK Teknik Lepas Pantai diisi oleh para akademisi lulusan universitas terkemuka dari Amerika Serikat, Inggris Raya, Australia, Jepang, Norwegia dan Malaysia yang memiliki kompetensi yang diakui internasional.

Indonesia sebagai negara maritim memiliki potensi yang melimpah (dalam segala aspek) di mana KK Teknik Lepas Pantai dapat mengambil bagian dalam mengembangkan dan mengoptimalkan sumber daya laut. Dengan demikian, hubungan antara Kelompok Penelitian Teknik Lepas Pantai dengan pemerintah terjalin dengan memberikan konsultasi dan solusi yang berkaitan dengan aspek rekayasa kelautan. Beberapa kerjasama juga telah dirintis dengan beberapa perusahaan lokal dan internasional untuk menyediakan software berlisensi termasuk kerjasama untuk memberikan inhouse training yang berkaitan dengan riset teknik lepas pantai. Anggota KK Teknik Lepas Pantai juga terlibat aktif dalam forum seminar nasional maupun internasional.

Ada tujuh fokus penelitian utama yang dikembangkan dalam Kelompok Penelitian Teknik Lepas Pantai; Teknologi Rekayasa Lepas Pantai, Pipa dan Riser Bawah Laut, Struktur Terapung, Material dalam Lingkungan Laut, Geoteknik Kelautan, dan Teknologi Pertahanan Laut.
